How to update passwords in Microsoft 365 and Google Admin
Guide (Google Admin)
- Go to incogneto mode on your browser and go to admin.google.com
- Log in using the google admin credentials for the school
- On the home screen there should be a tab called Users press manage
- You can either search in the filter section or scroll to find the name
- Hover over the name and press reset password
- If the password reset is for KS1 then use a simple password like redcar45 see below for simple password generators and untick "Ask user to change their password when they sign in"
- If the password reset is for KS2 or Teachers then create a more complicated password and tick "Ask user to change their password when they sign in"
- If the ticket requests a certain password ensure that this is met
- Respond to the ticket with the email/username and the password
Guide (Office 365)
- Go to incognito mode on your browser and go to office.com
- Log into office.com with the itcoord@ email
- On the left hand menu press Admin
- On the left hand side of the new page press Users -> Active Users
- You can search for the user in "Search Active Users list" or you can scroll the active users to find the user
- Hover over the name of the user and press the key
- As most people using office are staff create a complex password and tick "Require this user to change their password when they first sign in"
- Respond to the ticket with the email/username and the password
